The trainer
Jesse San Miguel
Founder, master trainer, and the person Chicago calls when the answer everywhere else has been 'we can't help you.'

Jesus “Jesse” San Miguel began training dogs professionally in 2010 and started operating officially as Canine Perspective in 2012. He has spent the years since specializing in the work most trainers avoid: dog aggression and reactivity. He apprenticed under Richard Heinz, the Miami Dog Whisperer, and Chicago came to know him as the Chicago Dog Whisperer.
What began as a home-to-home training business grew, on reputation alone, into a full-scale facility on West Lake Street in the summer of 2019.
He runs the facility with his wife Elizabeth, a self-described reactive-dog mom who understands the fear on the other end of the leash because she's lived it. That combination, technical mastery and genuine empathy, is why families who've been told to give up drive across the city to sit down with him.
His approach is balanced and honest: reward-based at its foundation, clear and structured where a dog needs it, and never oversold. He'll tell you what's realistic for your dog before you spend a dollar.

“A great many dogs written off as hopeless simply never had structure. That's a fixable problem.”
